The Coalition to Save the South Shore Country Club Park along with legislative support used different tactics to counteract the plans being pursued by the Chicago Park District to demolish the main building of the South Shore Country Club.  In addition, the federal government was contacted and informed that there was a proposal to demolish a site which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
