"There's a reason why it's called a Coalition, because a Coalition is made up of a a lot of different organizations coming together around one issue.  Since we had such a substantial base of support, our elected officials responded to us in a positive way.  Not initially, but eventually.  When they started to see the kind of support we had, it was very difficult for them not to support what we were trying to do."
