Since we had such a substantial base of support, our elected officials responded to us in a positive way. Not initially, but eventually. After the Chicago Park District renounced its plans to tear down the main building of the South Shore Country Club, the Coalition, the Chicago Park District, and the community banded together to make plans on how to go about the restoration and use of the Club's main building.
