Thesis

   The proposed demolition of the South Shore Country Club in 1977 by the Chicago Park District mobilized a Coalition of community organizations.  They worked together to save a historic site that anchored the South Shore community, by bringing economic prosperity, culturally based recreational activities, and employment to the area.
